General
My name is HoopDawg and I'm a pisces. I enjoy walks on the beach. I'm currently in a relationship with some girl. I don't know exactly how it happened, I guess
she just followed me home and I decided to keep her. 4 years later and here we are. I live in a house in Oak Park with 3 room-mates. I spend a lot of time in the
basement where it's safer from daylight.
Occupation and Education
I'm a computer application designer for a small company consisting of 5 people. We have an office in the
west loop area of Chicago. PHP/MySQL development is my specialty, but I have a wide range of skill with all things computer/electronic related.
My background consists of no education beyond high school diploma (and 2 useless community college
summer classes). I worked for a year at a computer shoppe, and then another year at a computer training school where I started
as tech support and then eventually ended up working as a web/application developer. Essentially though, I wrote my first
computer program when I was around 11, so you could say I've been active in the practice about 12 years. I also worked
at a Chinese Restaurant for 2.5 years. That's where I learned to speak about 5 words in chinese, and learned all
the recipes, although unfortunately, I don't cook. And...I hate school, but I did OK. That's the best word to describe it.
Hobbies
I enjoy learning things through Wikipedia and Google, and Yahoo News. I've been known to excel in computer gaming. I was
a noteable Unreal Tournament player back in the day and dedicated many vital teenage years to it. I think some people
knew my UT legend before they even knew me personally. Right now, I pretty much just play Call Of Duty 4 at work.
I have a strong and diverse interest in music. As of the last year or 2 I've been learning guitar and have begun composing myself. I'm also obsessed with all forms of Audio/Video equipment.
I like cars, especially fast ones. I've picked up a good amount of automotive knowledge over the years and am hoping to get more hands-on experience in the future. I drink. You meet good people drinking (but mostly weirdos).
The Website
This is the 2nd version of my home page under the address hoopdawg.com. It was down (and under construction)
from 2005 until January 1st, 2007. This is the first version to be entirely PHP/MySQL driven. It took me roughly
60 hours to create from scratch over a period of a year on and off in my spare time. My first home page was
created in 1999. From there, it has moved around to many different URL's and had several different designs. The
first version that featured pictures was launched in 2002.
